Pablo Milanes to Perform at Closing of Tarragona Festival, Spain

For the first time Cuban singer and composer Pablo Milanes will perform in this Spanish city. Pablo Milanes will sing some of his best-known songs at a one-time only concert in Catalonia. These songs have delighted several generations of Cubans and other peoples alike, sung by Pablo Milanes himself and several other world famous artists, including Mana, Silvio Rodriguez, Joaquin Sabina, Ana Belen, Joan Manuel Serrat, Victor Manuel, Ismael Serrano and Chucho Valdes. Pablo, nowadays 65, has 50 years of vast, artistic and continued work, since he first appeared on the radio program .Estrellas nacientes' (Born Stars in Havana in 1956, the aim of which was to discover new artistic talents. He wrote his first song .Tu, mi desengano' in 1963. His huge work has been well received by critics worldwide. Since the 1980s, Pablo has his own group. His songs speak of people's feelings and emotions, their concerns, frustrations, hopes and aspirations. Pablo Milanes was awarded the National Music prize in 2005 and also won two Latin Grammys for his CDs "Como un campo de maiz" and "AM/PM Lineas paralelas".
